News Report – 29th August

Cycling Club Breckland’s 10 mile time trial season came to a cracking end this week with a large field vying for the last points available and the title of win on Handicap.

The event was held on a revitalised course starting in Hingham with the riders flying down to the new Carbrooke Roundabout, turning and fighting the 5 miles back to the finish. Tom Fitzpatrick of Windy Milla made a guest appearance and won the event in a startling time of 22:37. Danny Watkins was first CCB rider in 24:08, followed by Declan Davis (24:14) and Matt Carter (24:22).

The handicap event was won by Mark Fairhead with a time of 17:10. SImon Atherton and Steve Jode filled the podium with handicap times of 17:22 and 17:27 respectively.

This weekend saw riders touching a staggering 40mph in the Anglia Velo 10. The prize for top speed and fastest time went to Nino Piccoli who’s max speed was an incredible 41.7mph and his time was 20:10. Chris Nudds was the fastest from CCB in a time of 22:39, followed by Danny Watkins (23:12) and Michael Wood (23:39). Other times came from Mark Fairhead (23:46) and Peter James (23:58).
